REFLECTION

I think that the song presentacion was really good of all , because all use the differents gadget technology   for that theirs presentacion be excellent.the most important was the correct pronunciation the consonat sounds besides, the presentacion are way to interactive with the teacher , the classmate were creative and many learnig that how improme any  presentacion that was excellente, the main thing was trascripcion good the words in my case I don´t have many problemes with that.
I choose my favorite song LOVE YOU LIKE A LOVE  SONG by Selena Gomez honestly my presentation was based on some excellent presentations They were exposed at first I had difficulties because we did not know how to make the presentation many thought it was the rhythm of the song ..... but with the first presentations and all gave us an idea.

VOWEL SOUNDS

In phonetics, a vowel is a sound in spoken language, such as English ah! [ɑː] or oh! [oʊ], pronounced with an open vocal tract so that there is no build-up of air pressure at any point above the glottis. This contrasts withconsonants, such as English sh! [ʃː], where there is a constriction or closure at some point along the vocal tract. A vowel is also understood to be syllabic: an equivalent open but non-syllabic sound is called a semivowel.

.

REFLECTION:

I personally think the vowel sounds are a little more difficult than consonants but also very useful, however, most mispronounced words are vowels.
The position of tongue is a useful reference point for describing the differences between vowel sounds.
The vowels , it was exciting to know the correct pronunciation fo the words some letters have sounds, others don´t have sounds, their classification is different depende where you ubicate the sound, immediately we know if this letters has a sound or does´t have. It results easier if we over with a had one of our ears, it is a better way to sounds in the letters.

One reason is the existence of a large number of vowel sounds that have no equivalent in Spanish. Hence, in practice you do not know how to put his mouth to imitate the sound (and besides, nobody tells you) and what you do is find the sound that seems to you nearest Spanish; option almost always wrong. Note that in Spanish we have five members and five vowel sounds, ie "a, e, i, o, u".

One reason is the exist

The Phonetic Chart

This web page is for people interested in learning the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) symbols. This is a useful skill for learners and teachers of English who may want to check the pronunciation of a word in a dictionary. Use the phonetic chart to learn the sounds of English. Then do a quiz to see how well you have learnt them.

SONG TRANSCRIPTION

reflection:

Phonology class is very important in this type of exercise in this case you can practice the correct transcription of phrases, sentences, songs, etc, and with proper transcription you allow your pronunciation is more fluid and most importantly you speak well without any difficulty, that the basis of a correct pronunciation is based on the transcription of consonants and vowels

it is very important to practice because you can dominate the correct pronunciation the an Tongue twisters In phonology class  remember that I had that memorize me any this was funny because I cannot pronunciation  I don`t know the diference  between  any sounds  it was  complicate for mi pronuncion this word , however its help me with my pronunciation.

EXAMPLE:

Luke Luck likes lakes.

Luck's duck licks lakes.
Duck takes licks in lakes Luke Luck likes.
Luke Luck takes licks in lakes duck likes.

CONSONANT SOUNDS

REFLECTION:
Consonan sound is very important in the words. In my phonology class I learn a lot of the correct pronunciation, at the begining I had many problems with  any words but now I don`t have many problems, this to me personally helped a lot in certain aspects of my pronunciation, the most important is  learn the chart that contain the consonant sounds.
The pronunciation is very important when you are learning english. we should know very well, the pronunciation is a good way how we can know about it. the sounds seem a thing difficult to learn, but if we practice at home it will result the easiest that you can imagine about.

Places of articulation (passive & active):
1. Exo-labial, 2. Endo-labial, 3. Dental, 4. Alveolar, 5. Post-alveolar, 6. Pre-palatal, 7. Palatal, 8. Velar, 9. Uvular, 10. Pharyngeal, 11. Glottal, 12. Epiglottal, 13. Radical, 14. Postero-dorsal, 15. Antero-dorsal, 16. Laminal, 17. Apical, 18. Sub-apical

In articulatory phonetics, a consonant is a speech sound that is articulated with complete or partial closure of the vocal tract. Examples are [p], pronounced with the lips; [t], pronounced with the front of the tongue; [k], pronounced with the back of the tongue; [h], pronounced in the throat; [f] and [s], pronounced by forcing air through a narrow channel (fricatives); and [m] and [n], which have air flowing through the nose (nasals). Contrasting with consonants are vowels.
The following diagram gives an overview of the consonants of English for both Received Pronunciation (standard British English) and General American (standard American English).

HOW TO IMPROVE ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION

10 tips to improve the pronunciation

1.- Observe the mouth movements of those who speak English well and try to imitate them.
When you are watching television, observe the mouth movements of the speakers. Repeat what they are saying, while imitating the intonation and rhythm of their speech.

2.- Until you learn the correct intonation and rhythm of English, slow your speech down.
If you speak too quickly, and with the wrong intonation and rhythm, native speakers will have a hard time understanding you.
Don't worry about your listener getting impatient with your slow speech -- it is more important that everything you say be understood.
3.- Listen to the 'music' of English.
Do not use the 'music' of your native language when you speak English. Each language has its own way of 'singing'.

4.- Use the dictionary.
Try and familiarise yourself with the phonetic symbols of your dictionary. Look up the correct pronunciation of words that are hard for you to say.

5.- Make a list of frequently used words that you find difficult to pronounce and ask someone who speaks the language well to pronounce them for you.
Record these words, listen to them and practice saying them. Listen and read at the same time.

6.- Buy books on tape.
Record yourself reading some sections of the book. Compare the sound of your English with that of the person reading the book on the tape.

7.- Pronounce the ending of each word.
Pay special attention to 'S' and 'ED' endings. This will help you strengthen the mouth muscles that you use when you speak English.

8.- Read aloud in English for 15-20 minutes every day.

Research has shown it takes about three months of daily practice to develop strong mouth muscles for speaking a new language.

9.- Record your own voice and listen for pronunciation mistakes.
Many people hate to hear the sound of their voice and avoid listening to themselves speak. However, this is a very important exercise because doing it will help you become conscious of the mistakes you are making.

10.- Be patient.
You can change the way you speak but it won't happen overnight. People often expect instant results and give up too soon. You can change the way you sound if you are willing to put some effort into it.

REFLECTION:
R and W sounds are extremely important in American English Pronunciation. These sounds are found in all positions of words - the beginning, middle and end. These two sounds require a "pushing out" motion of the mouth and lips that most foreign speakers are challenged by. If your goal is to be easily understood in everyday conversation, these sounds need to be mastered. So you must practice "pushing out" the mouth and lips when you pronounce these letters. (The Free PronunciationWorkshop.com Video Demo provides a great illustration of how to form these sounds.)
